DR BLUES prescribes original Covid-19 Survival Kit to support the Belgian catering industry during lockdown

A world’s leading specialists in anesthesiology and pain therapy, DR BLUES (Prof Dr Admir Hadzic, PhD) launches an original support program with the Belgian hospitality industry. His staff teamed up with the Belgian Brand Manager Laurent Goethals to create a luxurious beer gift box aimed at helping both the sector and high-end beer lovers to survive the lockdown. The “Dr Blues Covid-19 Survival Kit” is the world’s first ever coronavirus-themed beer package. Moreover, the “beer therapies” in it are prescribed by a real medical doctor.

“When the hospitality industry went into lockdown again, we wanted to help them with our artisanal brewery DR BLUES BELGIAN BREWS®. We developed the Covid-19 Survival Kit in partnership with the premier restaurants and bars in our hometown of Leuven. To keep things simple and safe, our original beer gift boxes are sold in our online shop and shipped worldwide. Upon ordering, the buyers specify the restaurants and bars they would like to support by the sales profits. The participating bars and restaurants get a generous commission for each box bought in their name,” explains DR BLUES. Dozens of hospitality businesses across Belgium are taking part in this unique outreach program.

Guy Vantoortelboom, renowned Belgian chef and owner of the high-end game and deli store Traiteur Kapucijn, is delighted with this outreach program: “We are thrilled to join in. It is a beautifully designed luxury box and the beers are also top-notch. A delicious and marvelous gift, making lockdown a lot smoother for both beer connoisseurs and their favorite local bars, restaurants and caterers”.

The names of the international award-winning beers in the Dr Blues Covid-19 Survival Kit refer to the medical world: the full-bodied dark PainKiller, golden triple-hopped tripel NerveBlock, the smooth IPA SuperPills and the premium pilsner PaceMaker. A booklet of prescriptions for a self-diagnosis of your lockdown symptoms to determine the best beer therapy, is also included in the box. In addition, the large “double dose” gift box comes with a pack of energy supplements (DR BLUES ENERGY Rx), also Dr. Blues’ own prescription for always being your very best.

DR BLUES wants to share his passion for the ancient tradition and exceptional quality of Belgian tasting beers. On his first visit to Belgium, the world-renowned scientist and a bass player in world-wide touring NYC blues band (BigAppleBlues.com) instantly fell in love with them. He teamed up with master brewer Marc Knops to craft a unique experience by brewing four recipes with an exceptional story: a medical doctor who prescribes beers, a brewer-pharmacist who prepares the recipes and a sharp and tough hop-blonde nurse Emily who dispenses them. The Belgian brews mature in the DR BLUES BEER CLINIC in the city of Leuven, world capital of beer, to the vibes of the music of the Big Apple Blues Band, amplified by 30,000 Watts of acoustic energy to promote fermentation.

A beer pack with a corona virus theme, maybe this is a bridge too far? DR BLUES confidently disagrees: “People know that drinking beer doesn’t protect against any virus and understand that our survival kit is simply a cute wink to the unusual times we are living. No level of alcohol improves health. But providing yourself an occasional moment of pleasure during lockdown, can improve the quality of life.”

The limited edition of the Dr Blues Covid-19 Survival Kit is sold exclusively on www.drblues.com and shipped worldwide. The luxury beer boxes can also be ordered and collected at selected premier Belgian partner restaurants, bars and shops.
